Shahin Hossain is an AI researcher at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, specializing in AI Literacy. His work focuses on bridging the literacy gap among urban underprivileged students through the innovative use of AI. Shahin's research interests span AI literacy, computational and algorithmic thinking, AI in education, and critical media literacy. In 2016, Shahin won the Future Leaders Program-Season 3, a business TV reality show that showcased his leadership and innovative thinking. He has served as a Fulbright foreign language teaching assistant at Fayetteville State University, and led cross-cultural dialogues at Bowling Green State University. He also served as the Vice President of the Graduate Student Association at UMBC. Beyond his academic pursuits, Shahin finds joy in hiking, camping, and engaging in deep, meaningful conversations. His commitment to advancing the field of AI and education is driven by a passion for making a tangible impact on society and empowering future generations through technology.
