Welcome to the Division D GSC!
Hello, and welcome to the Division D Graduate Student Committee (GSC). We’re glad you’re here. If you are a graduate student interested in educational measurement, psychometrics, methodology, and assessment, you’ve come to the right place.
AERA has 12 different divisions, lettered A through L. These divisions represent a vast range of expertise and research interests. Here at Division D, we mainly focus on measurement and methodologies including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods as applied to educational research. It is our goal to support and promote diverse methodologies that inform educational policy and practice. Graduate students and professional members of Division D have diverse research interests spanning academic disciplines. For instance, the research interests and expertise of Division D members encompass psychometrics, instrument development, in-depth qualitative inquiry, applied higher education assessment practices, and the study of advanced statistical techniques.
Another key goal of Division D is to mentor graduate students and new scholars from interdisciplinary methodological perspectives. With an exceptional breadth of expertise and research, Division D has a lot to offer graduate students and young professionals.
We are excited that you are interested in taking advantage of all the opportunities Division D has to offer. And, as the Division D GSC, we look forward to supporting your professional and scholastic growth through a variety of session and event offerings at the Annual AERA meeting.
